Terms of use
Effective September 7, 2026.
These terms concern A Cunning Ruin and its related website, provided by Fox Innovations LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”). They do not replace mandatory consumer protections or any applicable Apple store agreement.
1. Playing the game
The game is licensed for personal, non-commercial entertainment on a device you own or control. If you are below the age of legal majority where you live, use the game with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian.
App Store distribution is also subject to Apple’s usage rules and the applicable end-user license agreement. Unless a custom agreement is supplied with a release, the applicable agreement is Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement.
2. Current features
The current version has local AI play, same-device pass-and-play and daily puzzles. It does not offer online player accounts, public leaderboards, virtual currency, advertising or in-app purchases. No purchase, ad-reward, account-deletion or public-player-tag terms from our other games apply merely because Fox Innovations also publishes them.
3. Responsible use
Do not interfere with the operation or security of the game or website, exploit them to harm others, misrepresent shared results as official rankings, or use them to violate another person’s rights or applicable law. Reverse engineering and other restricted activities remain permitted wherever applicable law requires that permission.
4. Ownership
Original code, artwork, audio and branding are owned by Fox Innovations LLC or their respective licensors. These terms do not grant ownership of them. Third-party components retain their own licenses, including the bundled Fraunces font under the SIL Open Font License. We do not claim ownership of the traditional game, its history or cultural heritage.
5. Changes and availability
We may update, change or discontinue features as the game develops, subject to applicable law and any obligations attached to the released version. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, error-free operation or recovery of lost progress. You may stop using the game at any time. Removing it may delete local data without deleting every iCloud copy.
6. Warranties and liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the game and website are provided “as is” and “as available,” without additional warranties. Nothing here excludes a warranty, remedy or liability that cannot legally be excluded.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Fox Innovations LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or loss of data, progress, profits or revenues arising from use of the service. Subject to non-excludable rights and liabilities, the proposed total liability limit is the greater of the amount you paid us through the service in the preceding twelve months and US$50. These limits are carried over for legal review from the company’s existing terms, not a statement that they are enforceable in every jurisdiction.
7. Governing law
Florida, USA law governs these terms, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where applicable law requires otherwise. Florida courts have jurisdiction unless mandatory consumer protections or a mandatory local forum apply. Your mandatory rights are not affected.

See our privacy policy for data handling. When these terms change, the new effective date and any material changes will be identified on this page.
