A CUNNING RUIN
Privacy policy
Effective September 7, 2026.
Fox Innovations LLC, Florida, USA (“we,” “us,” or “our”), publishes A Cunning Ruin for iPhone and iPad. This policy explains information handled by the game, this website and our support team. Contact support@foxinnovate.com with privacy questions.
1. The short version
The current game does not require a player account and contains no advertising or in-app purchases. Core play and daily-puzzle generation happen on your device. The app is configured to support TelemetryDeck usage analytics when its production App ID is enabled. Contacting support shares the information you send us.
2. Information on your device and in iCloud
The app stores settings, game records, statistics and puzzle progress on your device. Daily Strike completion days and stars can be mirrored through Apple’s iCloud key-value storage when available. This is not a Fox Innovations account, and we do not receive your Apple Account password or credentials.
Local information generally remains until you use the relevant reset controls, remove the app or your device removes its data. Deleting the app does not necessarily delete an iCloud copy. The current settings include a separate destructive option to reset the Daily Strike streak; review its confirmation before proceeding.
3. Usage analytics
When configured, TelemetryDeck receives events such as tutorial completion, game starts and finishes, puzzle attempts, shares and selected settings changes. Event parameters contain categories and counts, not your name, email, contacts or board positions.
The SDK also processes a hashed identifier and technical context such as device model, operating-system version, app version and session information. We use these signals to understand feature use and improve the game, not for advertising or cross-app tracking. We do not ask for an advertising identifier.
TelemetryDeck describes its hashing and data handling in its Privacy FAQ and identifier explanation. The provider does not promise a fixed deletion period for its stored analytics events. We may be unable to locate an individual’s events from an email address because the app does not send that address with analytics.
4. Reminders and sharing
Daily reminders are scheduled locally after you choose to enable them. We do not operate a push-notification server for this feature. You can turn reminders off in Settings.
Sharing a Daily Strike result uses the system share sheet. The app prepares the puzzle number, result, capture-direction trail and, when applicable, streak information and an image. You decide where to send them. The destination service handles the shared content under its own terms; the app does not receive your contacts or social credentials.
5. Support and this website
If you email us, we receive your address and whatever you include, such as a description, device details or screenshots. We use this information to respond, resolve the issue and meet applicable legal obligations. Support records are retained for as long as needed for those purposes.
The site’s pages do not include a mailing-list form, advertising pixels or a website analytics SDK. Hosting and security providers may process technical request information, including IP addresses, requested URLs and browser details, to deliver and protect the site. This private review version also uses the hosting platform’s access controls; its sign-in is separate from the game.
6. Service providers and transfers
Relevant providers include Apple for app distribution and iCloud, TelemetryDeck for configured game analytics, and providers used for website hosting and support email. They may process information outside your country. Final service-provider arrangements, transfer safeguards and retention settings will be checked before public release.
See Apple’s privacy information and TelemetryDeck’s linked documentation for their practices. We do not sell personal information or share it for targeted advertising.
7. Choices and requests
You may contact us to ask about access, correction or deletion of information we hold, or to exercise other rights available under applicable law. We may need limited information to verify and respond to a request. We do not discriminate against you for exercising privacy rights. Rights and exceptions depend on your location and the information involved.
Some app information exists only on your device or in your own iCloud account, so we cannot delete it remotely. Please contact support for help identifying the relevant controls. Do not send Apple Account credentials.
8. Children
Do not send children’s personal information to support unnecessarily. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate steps. The game is made for a general audience and does not knowingly collect personal information from children; the analytics described above carry no name, contact details or advertising identifier.
9. Changes and contact
We will update this page when the game’s features, providers or data practices materially change and show the applicable effective date. Material changes will be highlighted here.
